      Excellent support during difficult COVID

      Pros

      Amgen has been a great employer during the very dark and difficult COVID situation. We have had complete freedom to work from whereever we are. In addition, none of the benefits were cut and we were infact given higher pay to cope.

      Cons

      The Singapore branch does not have much power. Almost all decisions are made in the US and only implementation is allowed here. I think that to really grow a bit more divesting of power is needed. This is a fast growing area and we need local knowledge to drive local decisions

      Not inclusive culture

      Pros

      Opportunities for self improvements are plenty if you now where to look out for them.

      Cons

      Favoritism is obvious and very prevalent. If you are not in their good books, be prepared to be starved of information and guidance. It's all a slippery slope from there as you will not be excelling in your job as compared to those within their inner circle. If you look hard enough the ones at the top are all providing lip service. The company may have been awarded best employer award, but that was due to constant pressure from management to do so and promised incentives when awarded.

      Benefits are good - Bonus min 2mths - 2days family care leaves - Covid special payout etc

      Cons

      Normal office politics Advantage to degree holders though diploma holders are being hired too. Degree holders have better increments.
