Pros
*Getting 40 learning hours a year to take off and learn something is awesome (although many people take it to just do whatever they want and make it something they "learn") *80% of the people you work with are so incredibly amazing and smart *Good place to start if you want to get a year or two of experience in a field before you move on, don't think of this place as a long term job.
Cons
It is a hypocritical organization, you deal with content every day that talks about trusting employees, creating and having good leaders, and developing your employees. They will take you, suck your soul, burn you out, and that will be that. No development, no trust, poor leadership. *There is little trust, the threat of going back to the office full time is ever looming (which is rude, just make up your mind so people can stop stressing out). *There are some really crappy directors that really seem to have zero vested interest in their team. *Leadership's engagement with team is all smoke in mirrors, they don't care about anything, the attitude is "just get your job done." At least in my department. *I maybe had one coaching moment--at the end of it, it was clear my manager didn't even bother to understand what actually happened, so no worthwhile coaching even occurred. *There is no encouragement or support from most of the directors/managers. This might not be any fault of their own, it is likely coming from the tip top. But, here again, lets not practice what we preach and correct bad leadership because it all trickles down. *Most positions are relatively bottle necked.
