Pros

Unlimited time off. Lots of free lunches and after work events. Location doesn't get much better than downtown Raleigh.

Cons

New CEO and upper management have no idea what they are doing. They are completely unaware of the software development lifecycle and expect immediate results. Constantly changing direction and never succeeding in any of them. The CEO will fire anyone who disagrees with his way of thinking or questions him. He claims its because the position is no longer needed but really he is just dumping all that work on other employees without an increase in salary, job title or benefits. Upper management is awful. I witnessed an employee get yelled at for talking during work. They also enjoy laying people off in front of everyone.

Pros

- The engineers I worked with were outstanding. - Was paid fairly... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cons

- Competition already owns majority of the market place - VC backed which would be OK, but they've received 5+ rounds of funding and have seen negative growth - All the engineers I worked with have moved on, new hire life span < 1 year at company - New Director and VPs every 6 months - Lack of product direction - Platform is reliably unstable - Primary DB was left exposed and shutdown by Amazon for involvement in a Botnet - Outsourced most of the engineering staff - Likely that platform is not HIPPA compliant

Pros

Lots of opportunity to make an impact in healthcare at this company. A new CEO has been hired as of Oct. 2016 and is making a big difference in direction and excitement of the company's future. A lot of new, energetic, smart associates have been hired since the "start-over". The CEO listens to the associates for input and feedback on direction and keeps things focused rather than chasing every opportunity which is a risk of most start-ups. The board is committed to the company's success.

Cons

It is small. In order to be successful we will need to add expertise in a few areas.
