Best company to work for - hands down

Pros

I have a very career-driven mindset and take growth and upward mobility into consideration on a daily basis. I would not have dedicated 5+ years of my life and 80% of my young career with a company if it was not the best place that I see myself. The personal and professional growth opportunity at Betts is completely unrivaled.

Cons

The unfortunate reality of a start-up is that change is the only constant, and stability is a luxury that isn't always guaranteed. Leaders have to make the best decisions possible to keep the company afloat and moving in the right direction, especially in this state of economy. The deeper reality is that if you are not performing or adding to the growth, any company (not just Betts) cannot afford to give free handouts. Unfortunately for many companies in this time, it is those employees that feel the affect of RIFs, and they often times leave poor reviews instead of leveraging their network and past management for future employment. There are truly no cons of working for Betts - just an understanding that it is a start-up, and there are growing pains.

Pros

I do attribute a lot of my learned recruitment skills to my time at Betts. They teach best practices, how to stay organized, and move quickly / efficiently. Managers are supportive - they offer extensive 1:1s once a week, plus further working sessions if you need them You are able to build your network and get to know VP and Clevel executives at top SaaS Startups. You definitely are never bored.

Cons

There is a huge lack of work life balance. The average day was min 10 hours and I never felt like I did enough. Upper management was down first line managers throats and made the recruiters work even harder with little gratification At times you felt tied to your desk and guilty to take a 30 minute lunch break + late night emails and slacks had you answering questions late into the night. Often times I felt like I was being babysat - I was always having to send recaps of my activity instead of being trusted of doing my job correctly. Recruiters are also given too many accounts to juggle at a given time -- which is why there are such long work hours. Finally, compensation did not equate the numbers of hours work... by a long shot.

Pros

Betts Recruiting, THANK YOU for taking a chance on me 2.5 years ago. I started working at Betts without any prior recruiting experience, and I am forever grateful that the Betts Team believed in me and took a chance by hiring me. I learned so much and held four different roles during my tenure there. Betts gave me the opportunity to prove myself, learn and grow in ways I didn’t know were possible, build relationships with rockstar candidates, manage relationships with clients at the executive level and become an incredible recruiter. What I loved most about Betts is the people- I was surrounded my the most driven, motivated and all around incredible people across the country. I found my career passion and cannot wait to continue my career in the recruiting space. Highest endorsement for Carolyn Betts Fleming and the Betts Recruiting team. Thank you again for the most rewarding and best learning, growing and recruiting experience in my career thus far!

Cons
