Pros

Up to 4 weeks fully paid sick leave Staff discount

Cons

Most of the staff takes full advantage of sick leave, BHF doesn’t seem to question anything. Most of the time there is no overtime allowance to cover sick leave.

Pros

Benefits good 6 weeks holiday

Cons

KPIs are unrealistic, weekend and bank holiday working expected. Expect to do unpaid overtime. When you complain about workload the answer is always to get more volunteers. Expect to run a store with the absolute bare minimum of staff. Expect to lift heavy furniture. They 'talk' of work/life balance but for anyone working in a store this is non existant. It's all about ticking boxes and gaining awards for the charity than their staff wellbeing and donors. This is very hard work for very little pay. By the time I left I was pretty much on minimum wage (if you counted the unpaid overtime) experience is not rewarded.
