Most toxic culture I have ever seen

Pros

Good-moderate money and payments on time

Cons

The environment is very toxic, the managers are the ones who control the company, and they can easily get you fired, and destroy your reputation if they didn't like you. You can never progress in this company, the managers will not allow you to go beyond them in anything. There is no people culture, you can't talk to anyone except your manager other than this you will be told to always get back to them to solve your issues even if it is with them. The environment is very toxic, no one likes or cooperates with anyone, and they only care for their business to avoid begin fired. Don't look for stability here unless you are a working slave that only says yes to the managers even if they are wrong, and the moment your manager will disagree with you consider yourself fired.

Does not consider career goals and beware of toxic seniors

Pros

Well-organised HR system with great medical insurance, few employee discounts, regular celebration events, etc. Adequate compensation and salary is paid on time.

Cons

While flexible working and working from home are meant to be beneficial, it has led to a no work-life balance environment; you are expected to be answerable to the supervisor at all times. Most managers are working overtime, even on public holidays, sick leaves and annual leaves. Everything is "urgent" and once the work is done, it takes weeks to review it. My supervisor was a micro-manager and left no space for creativity and everything I did was criticised. Voicing my concerns to HR did not help either, I was moved abruptly to another department which did not align with my career goals and had little relevance to my skills. Don't expect to work according to the job description provided, the real role is far away from that.

It only looks good on a billboard

Pros

1. The name on the CV would look good. its a hot name in the middle east right now 2. you'll learn about an on-demand industry. there are quite a few things to learn about logistics, operations, procurement & supply chain. 3. you will meet a lot of new people in the industry as you are working in a hot tech startup and selling the idea of a company to everyone, you'll meet a lot of interesting people

Cons

1. there is no structure/strategy everyone is constantly firefighting. no one likes to plan in advance and develop a step by step action plan, instead it is last minute changes with a justification "we are a startup, that's how things are". All the unnecessary stress could have been avoided if things were planned ahead and "management" would be supportive of people. 2. Constant stress. if you are into stressing out about things that are meant to be under you control, but are not - you are in a right place. There is no work culture or work/life balance. It is normal to be called on Friday and demanded you drop everything and fix whatever it is right away. Reasoning as a day off are brushed off with an argument "yes, but this will kill everything if we don't fix it now". More often than not, the object of fixing doesn't need immediate attention. 3. you will learn an art of public speaking and corporate culture if you wanna thrive - you need to learn how to survive. Few individuals actually do what they say at this company. More often, its the oposite. Lots of ideas, lots of talk about how great the ideas are. But no one actually wants to execute those ideas. Or if they do, its backwards and low quality effort under the pretence of "it needs to be done yesterday". Any reasoning of quality, work/life balance, need for resources are usually dismissed.
