They legit ask you to lie to the onsite staff like it is no big deal..
Working every day 45+ days is tiring & draining. It is hard to stay motivated near the end, when you will be counting down the days to leave. Also, it is difficult to truly experience the town/ go to events with barely having any time off.
You will never be able to have your loved ones visit, unless they visit when you first get to an assignment. It's impossible for them to visit after that because CLASS doesn't tell you when you are leaving an assignment. You never know if it will be the rare instance of 30 days, 45, or 60. You can ask but they won't say. By the time they do tell you when you are leaving (usually a week beforehand), it is too late for your loved ones to book anything.
They are very last minute and unorganized. Sometimes you'll be on vacation for a month, making $500 checks (per diem is a huge chunk of your pay that you only get when on assignment)
They don't communicate your direct job description to the onsite staff. You are ONLY expected to handle leasing/ new traffic, so there's tension between you and the staff when you refuse to help with residents or re-tour old prospects. They don't understand your job role.
You also aren't allowed to run applications or assist with the files. So if the time table from app to lease is slow and you leave the assignment before your prospect signs the dotted line, you most likely won't receive the commission for it. .
It's hard to get support if you ever need anything! I've had ignored phone calls/ texts from management.
You can't hang out with the onsite staff or residents. But honestly, they don't even try to get to know you. They know you are only there for a short time period, and most of the time they feel threatened by the fact you are even there.
They have you call in your number of leases every single day. If you don't have any, they usually ask the number of walk-ins you have, and why they didn't apply. They also have you send a nightly email detailing your traffic, leases, and apps. And they have you log all of that info, into their website. They definitely micro-manage.
You don't know any of your coworkers. There's no fun events, or mass trainings for everyone. The culture is not what you would expect for a small sized company.. and it's misleading in training.
There's about 8 promotions but they are all the same role, with a pay raise and name change. So there's practically 0 true growth in this position.
The pay is low. It starts at $15,000 + $28/per diem+ $50/lease. You are often sent to assignments where leases are hard to get, or take forever to process so Commission is not as easy to come by as you would think. They push the commission hard during the interview, which is what grabbed my attention.
Assignments are never 30 days, and are very rarely less then 45. Expect to be there 45+ and they might even ask you to stay longer.
The turnover is so high, the company really never experiences much growth. I did have the pleasure of meeting one other leasing specialist randomly, and within months they were gone too..
