Pros

Check the dates of all the recent positive reviews! If you’re wondering why there’s been a FLOOD of glowing reviews in the past week, here’s why… The global Sales leader recently sent an email asking the Sales team to post reviews to combat the growing number of negative ones. As for actual pros—honestly, not many. Some good people, but many are leaving. The company is heavily funded with what seems like an unlimited event budget, but that’s where the positives end.

Cons

BE SKEPTICAL of the flood of positive reviews – Sales leadership sent an email actively encouraging the team to post Glassdoor reviews in response to recent negative feedback. While they didn’t explicitly demand positive reviews, the implication was clear. Some Sales leaders are even requiring their teams to submit reviews, framing negative feedback as harmful to the company. Overinflated valuation – The company has taken on massive funding, but actual revenue remains shockingly low. Leadership prioritizes optics over sustainable growth. Weak market position – They claim to be the market leader, but there’s little differentiation from competitors, and serious technical deficiencies remain unaddressed. Deceptive growth tactics – Instead of building a solid foundation, they’re flooding the sales team with reps to artificially inflate their market presence. Overloading territories is a well-known failing strategy that rarely benefits employees. Shady business practices – Their advisory structure raises serious ethical concerns (Google Cyberstarts "Sunrise Program" and decide for yourself). There are also reports of manual scanning being used to manipulate proof-of-concept results. Toxic culture & high turnover – Employees are leaving voluntarily—even just weeks before their stock vests. That alone should tell you everything about their confidence in the company’s future. Inexperienced leadership – First-time founders and executives are in roles far beyond their experience level. Arrogance mixed with inexperience is a dangerous combination, and it’s painfully obvious in the company’s operations.

Pros

Cyera has an exciting mission and a strong opportunity to make a real impact in the data security space. The CEO, CTO + CRO are genuinely impressive—visionary, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they’re building. With essentially unlimited funding, the company can afford to hire top talent and move quickly. Cyera has some great perks, particularly when it comes to showing appreciation for employees. The company has a team dedicated to this and they go out of its way to send thoughtful gifts during Christmas, anniversaries, and other special occasions, which is a nice touch that helps create a sense of recognition and care.

Cons

Some senior figures seem more focused on hiring friends and ex-colleagues than on fostering a diverse, merit-based team. This creates a toxic culture where employees outside the inner circle are blatantly overlooked and treated unfairly. Favoritism is obvious, with some people getting special treatment or opportunities simply because they’re in with the right crowd. It’s demotivating, and it’s clear that this kind of bias is eroding trust in the leadership and damaging the overall company culture. Culturally, the company is fractured. There’s a serious lack of accountability and transparency. Toxic behavior from certain managers goes unchecked—some bordering on bullying—which has created a toxic atmosphere in pockets of the business. Leadership under the CEO/CTO/ CRO is making questionable decisions that are actively sending the company in the wrong direction. On the product side, there are critical issues that are either being ignored or deprioritized. Meanwhile, a large portion of closed deals seem to be the result of investor handshakes or favors from connections in the ecosystem—not necessarily product merit. Customers are noticing this too, with signs of churn already becoming evident.

Pros

This company’s got real potential. There are solid people on the team, and the products are strong with a lot of practical use. If leadership stays sharp and focused, there’s no reason this place won’t succeed.

Cons

There’s a lot to like about working here. Strong products, good people, and real potential. But it wouldn’t be honest not to mention some of the issues I’ve seen firsthand. For certain roles, unless you’re Israeli, Jewish, or have strong ties to Israel, it can be tough to get in or to stick around. I’ve seen qualified candidates passed over in favor of others who fit that background, often because they speak fluent Hebrew or have a cultural connection. It’s not necessarily malicious, it seems more like leadership choosing to build a team they’re comfortable with but it does raise some questions, especially given U.S. labor laws. On the compensation side, it’s hit or miss. Some folks make great money, even in non commission roles. But I am part of a group that did a little digging and let’s just say, there’s a wide pay gap that doesn’t always track with experience or performance. A lot of us were/ are underpaid by tens of thousands, laughable if it isn't so frustrating.
