Cons

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working for a corporate company that misused their power and had a factory mentality when it came to managing their staff. The company had a top-down approach to management, with little to no input or feedback from employees. The company's management team was extremely micromanaging, constantly checking in on our work and breathing down our necks. They had no trust in their employees and seemed to think that we were not capable of making decisions or taking initiative. This created a very stressful and demotivating work environment. The company also had a very strict and inflexible work schedule, which made it difficult to balance work and personal life. They seemed to have no understanding or empathy for their employees' needs and would not accommodate for personal emergencies or illnesses. Overall, I would not recommend working for this company. Their misuse of power and micromanaging management style creates a toxic and unproductive work environment. It is a big NO for me.

Pros

1. Strategic Role Opportunities: New positions / department offer a chance to contribute to branding, image and business development during critical phases after IPO. 2. Potential for Growth: Since public listing in Malaysia market, the company present opportunities for employees to engage in high-impact projects.

Cons

1. Toxic Leadership and Power Abuse: Senior management, particularly the Special / Personal Assistant to the Chairman, has been accused of discrimination, undermining roles, and fostering a hostile work environment. Unfair appraisals, biased evaluations, and exclusion from decision-making processes are prevalent. 2. Lack of Accountability and Ethical Concerns: Allegations of signature forgery, nepotism, and improper task delegation raise serious ethical and compliance red flags. Employees report being forced to bear costs for damaged company equipment due to inadequate policies. 3. Poor Workplace Culture: Instances of workplace bullying, verbal abuse, and unprofessional behavior by senior staff, especially Chairman's PAs, create a toxic atmosphere, their authorities and power is higher than all HODs even represent Chairman. Fear of retaliation and job insecurity is widespread among employees. 4. Inadequate Employee Support: Medical benefits are insufficient, with claims being wrongfully rejected and medical conditions weaponized against employees. Lack of HR support during critical periods, such as medical leave, further exacerbates employee dissatisfaction.
