Pros

Met some nice people along the way

Cons

I was brought onboard on the promise that I would be given the training to become a business analyst. Very simply, this didn't happen. The only thing I received any training on was how to sell their product. They were hypercritical and micro-managed everything I did, which turns out would only be writing documents and emailing clients. They were so critical of all of my writing that I would get anxiety every time I sent something to them for approval. I had zero confidence in myself. I even bought a subscription to grammarly.com and still got all of my emails and papers ripped apart. Not even AI could help me. I was there for nine months and never had one training session on how to write any code, SQL entries, analyze analytics, nothing. I was continually trying to figure it out on my own. I started becoming more and more disconnected from my work, and after not having a single review for nine months, I was let go.

Pros

Data Federal's hiring process is probably the fairest of any employer I've encountered in the area - based on merit, promise, and practicality. They move quickly in the hiring process and offer good benefits. They are always looking towards the future in regards to their business and potential career development. I know several people who have been with them for the better part of a decade, and that says something. Negotiations were fair, and I can't say I've encountered a company so focused on staff development. I have full faith in their future.

Cons

Because it is government contracting and inter agency agreements, sometimes things can move slowly, but in comparison to other SMEs I've worked for/with, Data Federal is pretty responsive considering. The COO takes on a lot to ensure things are fair - in regards to things that typically come up in government contracting.
