Pros

- Really nice coworkers - Good market fit and variety of clients

Cons

- Becoming an increasingly soulless corporate company. - Forcing RTO for the sake of RTO. Remote flexibility is changing to mandatory 3 days in office when we don't even have space for meetings. Probably because leadership is looking to sell the company, and they want in office presence to look good for logistics. Otherwise why waste company money and everyone's time with commutes when we can't even take meetings in tiny spaces. Poor employee and client experience. - Burnout to the maximum. There's no rhyme or reason to rush client launches or internal product development other than to appease leadership. Wasting resources by having a company wide hackathon because AI is trendy. - Zero culture other than playing politics to talk about "wins". Otherwise it's all about justifying how we're removing holidays (last week of December) because we need to appease customers, or how some inane process is going to be implemented to review OKR, KPI, OPSP, or whatever acronym leadership is obsessed with.

Note: Over the past 10 days, we’ve received a much higher-than-usual volume of Glassdoor reviews. We’ve flagged this activity with Glassdoor for review. Regardless, we take all feedback seriously and will continue to respond thoughtfully and transparently. Thank you for sharing your perspective. As DealMaker scales, the pace of work and level of structure have increased, and those changes don’t land the same way for everyone. Our return-to-office approach is a deliberate investment in collaboration, mentorship, and skill development, and sits on the lower end of in-person expectations for technology companies at our size and stage. We’ve also invested in improving the physical environment to better support focused work, collaboration, and client engagement. Customer focus and AI-driven capabilities are foundational to our strategy. We recognize that when initiatives overlap without clear sequencing, teams can feel stretched, and we continue to refine prioritization and execution to ensure teams can operate with focus and sustainability. DealMaker is intentionally evolving into a more structured, high-accountability operating environment. That evolution isn’t for everyone, but it’s essential to long-term growth, client outcomes, and employee development. We actively gather feedback through multiple channels and encourage team members to share input with leaders, the People team, or through our ongoing anonymous feedback channel as part of that continuous effort.

Pros

Work with some great people and the pay is decent.

Cons

This place used to be great, but it has completely deteriorated over the past year. Remote work eliminated: What was once a fully remote position now requires mostly in-office attendance on a fixed schedule. Minimal time off: The company provides only the legal minimum paid time off—nothing more. Don't believe recruiters if they describe the time-off policy as "unlimited", that's a huge lie. No work-life balance: The workload is excessive, and colleagues will contact you at all hours of the day and night. Work-life balance is nonexistent. Forced AI adoption: Management pushes AI tools on employees at every opportunity. Layoffs despite growth: The company conducted a large round of layoffs despite strong revenue growth and ongoing hiring. The saddest part is that this company used to be excellent, but leadership stopped listening to employees and everything has gone downhill. They even removed our open forum for anonymous questions and feedback right before implementing a wave of anti-employee policies. I have never worked at a company with this much animosity toward its employees.

Regardless, we take all feedback seriously and will continue to respond thoughtfully and transparently. Thank you for sharing your perspective. For long-tenured team members, periods of change can feel especially stark, and we recognize that DealMaker today looks different than it did in earlier chapters. Over the past year, the company has intentionally evolved as we entered a new stage of growth. Our return-to-office approach is a deliberate investment in collaboration, mentorship, and skill development, and sits on the lower end of in-person expectations for technology companies at our size and stage. This shift, along with clearer operating standards, reflects how we are building for long-term scale and performance. We also believe that AI fluency is essential to the future of work and have invested accordingly to equip our team with tools and skills that create leverage and reduce manual effort — not add burden. Decisions around staffing and structure are made deliberately, with the long-term health of the business and our customers in mind. While these choices are not always easy, they are part of ensuring the company remains strong, focused, and well positioned for what’s next. DealMaker today is different by design. This stage requires adaptability, ownership, and comfort with change. It isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. We appreciate the time you spent at DealMaker and wish you well in your next chapter. We actively gather feedback through multiple channels and encourage team members to share input with leaders, the People team, or through our ongoing anonymous feedback channel as part of that continuous effort.

Overworked with unrealistic expectations

Pros

- You get to work with some really smart, talented people. - People are generally pretty nice for the most part, when you have any time to chat. - Cross collaborative environment

Cons

- You are overworked from day 1. The company is way understaffed across the board and slow to hire. - Disrespectful of your time. Comp does not match workload, especially when you're basically expected to work past your typical work hours. People don't respect your time zones and send messages at all hours. - Micro management to the max, with the company forcing all sorts of corporate review processes and AI as part of everything for no reason. This is an absolute morale killer. - No camaraderie or real culture. Good luck finding time to get to know each other if you're drowning in work. It's no wonder there's been a ton of turnover recently, where people are quitting of their own accord.

Regardless, we take all feedback seriously and will continue to respond thoughtfully and transparently. Thank you for sharing your perspective. We recognize that starting at DealMaker can feel demanding, and that the pace and expectations don’t land the same way for everyone. As we’ve scaled, we’ve intentionally raised operating standards and introduced more structure to support long-term performance. That includes clearer review processes and increased use of AI, which we see as tools to create leverage and improve decision-making — not to replace judgment or diminish the human side of the work. When those efforts aren’t sequenced well, teams can feel stretched, and we continue to refine how work is prioritized and resourced. While the work is fast-paced, it’s important to clarify that DealMaker is not experiencing the level of voluntary turnover described here. Hiring, staffing, and performance decisions are made deliberately with long-term sustainability in mind. DealMaker today is a high-ownership, high-accountability environment. It isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. For those who thrive here, it’s a place to collaborate with strong peers, build skills quickly, and help shape what comes next.
