Pros

Would generally accommodate if you wanted more hours.

Cons

Not enough staff when looking for holidays. High turnover of staff with no real care as to why they’re leaving. Will stand over new staff and give out behind their back instead of helping or correcting them. No management around for weekend shifts. Have to keep an eye on pay roll as they often miss days or don’t pay the extra for bank holiday unless you email to correct them even when you have signed in for work that day. Don’t send payslips until you tell them to.

Pros

Good Money- usually over minimum wage and time and a half on Sundays. Good training- depending on which shop, youre usually paired with a more experience worker to teach you.

Cons

Wrong pricing on products every day. Products out of date on shelves. Sometimes youll be left on your own on tills during busy times. Managers slow at giving small change to your till. Sexism in the shop I worked in- Women were told to stay on tills to be the "face" for the customers. Men got to work on the shop floor because they were "stronger". Unfair work hours- doing a 4-11 shift and then being expected to come in at 7am the next day.
