Pros

100% salary during Föräldraledighet. Central Stockholm location. Good benefits. Friendly people. Side projects are allowed but require approval. Depending on project, manager and role WFH/Hybrid/Office flexibility can be good. Free breakfast on Thursdays. Onsite barista.

Cons

Projects pivot frequently without much warning. Short deadlines will pop up and move at the last minute. Production process has changed several times and is still not understood. Lack of clarity on project goals, across all projects. Lack of communication between departments and little to no producers. Staff retention and churn is proving problematic. Lack of professional development structure. Cliquey company culture. No bonuses until the company turns a profit and bonus structure is unexplained. No shares being distributed or share scheme. Top down development approach. Opaque company structure.

Management is driving people away...

Pros

Talented coworkers. Ability to open source some of your work.

Cons

The management and production structure is rapidly driving away talent. There is no framework for role growth or promotions. The only way to get promoted is to leave the company. Salary raises do not meet inflation, and bonuses are nonexistent. Managers have no interest in being managers, and many do not have any 1:1s or professional development conversations with their reports. Employees are pushed to the fringes if they "don't fit in" by voicing opinions management doesn't like. They will make it clear you aren't welcome by offering minisule salary increases and assigning mundane tasks until you leave. If you don't gel with the cliquey EA/DICE leadership group, you will not feel comfortable here. Production process is very messy, direction changes rapidly and often.

Pros

- Competitive salary - Nice location - Talanted colleagues

Cons

I have worked at Embark for almost two years, and my experience has been far from positive. Here are some critical points potential future employees should consider. - While the salary might seem competitive, it comes at the expense of your mental health. The stress and anxiety caused by the toxic work environment are not worth it. - The management takes pride in firing great talent without just cause. This creates an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among employees. - Employees are expected to work overtime regularly, with little to no regard for work-life balance. The excessive workload is draining and unsustainable. - Extremely Toxic Leadership, there is rampant bullying, gossip, and "backstabbing", which fosters a hostile and unpleasant work environment. - Despite the numerous complaints and feedback provided by employees, no meaningful changes or actions have been taken in the 2 years I have been here. - HR to cover up for the leadership's failures and does not speak the truth about the issues. - No bonuses.
