Pros
I spent five and a half years at AlphaSights, progressing from Associate to spending three years as a Manager. For me, it is hard to think of a better place to start your career. What stood out most was the level of ownership you feel. Over time, I felt like I was genuinely managing my own small book of business, building long term client relationships and identifying growth opportunities. That same level of responsibility continued as I moved into leadership roles, where I also found managing and developing high performing teams incredibly rewarding. Coaching, training, and supporting talented individuals as they grew in their careers taught me a huge amount about leadership, communication, and how to bring out the best in people. Across both client work and management, the trust placed in you means you develop quickly, think commercially, and take real accountability for outcomes. AlphaSights is a demanding and ambitious environment, but it is also a very strong place to learn. I was consistently challenged, surrounded by smart, driven colleagues, and encouraged to keep raising the bar. There is also a very clear progression path that rewards strong performance, and genuine investment in development, including structured training and support for further education such as MBA funding. Compensation is also very competitive, which is another positive aspect of the experience. Overall, it is a great place to work that gives you a strong platform to build your career.
Cons
It is a high pressure and fast paced environment, and it is not for everyone. The expectations are consistently high, and you need to be comfortable being stretched and measured against ambitious targets. You also get the most out of the experience when you come in with clear personal ambition and take ownership of your development, rather than expecting it to be more guided or gradual.
