BEWARE!!! High stress, low pay, and ignorant senior leadership - Software Engineer Altera Digital Health Employee Review

Pros

The only positive aspect is being able to work from home. However, even that is used as fuel for upper management to mandate excessive work hours and to treat their dedicated employees like garbage.

Cons

Senior leadership's ignorance causes excessive rework due to not having a firm grasp on the technology and market. This results in high stress/long work hour/low productivity conditions that lead to client attrition and drives layoffs (2 in the last 6 months), and on goes the cycle. Rather than address the senior leadership (Executive VP and above) issues, Altera Digital Health keeps hiring/firing lower level managers and developers expecting different results, i.e. insanity!! Icing on the cake is when the Chief Medical Officer verbally berates anyone and everyone to compensate for her own inability to understand the market and provide proper guidance within adequate timelines to maintain, much less to gain back, desperately needed market traction. If all of that doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster, add to it the president's blatant broadcasting of how there is no loyalty from the company to any Altera employees!?? Is there even a company without employees??

Pros

You are rewarded for working hard and smart. If you want to treat the company as your own and be rewarded for doing so this is a great place to work.

Cons

Not for people who just want to collect pay check and go home. Must try to grow to get rewards.

Pros

Helping people with their medical conditions

Cons

Losing foothold in the IT healthcare field. Employees get no support when wanting to stay in the organization but in a more secure position
