Pros

- Relaxed pace with good work-life balance. - Stable workplace, but growth is limited for those who challenge the status quo.

Cons

- **Complacency Due to Captive Customer Base** The organization primarily serves Amazon employees, leading to **a lack of true customer obsession**. With no external competition, there is little drive for innovation or efficiency. Critical **S-team goals have been running for eight years with no meaningful output**. - **Lack of Technical Challenges & Learning Opportunities** The entire architecture across teams is **highly templatized**, meaning there is **nothing new to learn**. The engineering problems lack complexity, and **there are no technical challenges related to traffic at scale**—with maximum TPS being **less than 1**. - **Non-Technical Leadership & Blame Culture** The engineering organization is led by **non-technical L7, L8, L10, and SVPs**, resulting in a **lack of execution and accountability**. To maintain their positions, leaders **shift blame onto L6 SDMs, SDEs, and TPMs**, creating **a toxic, fear-driven culture**. In an effort to justify leadership inefficiencies, **50% of L6 leads are pushed into PIP**. - **No Space for Diverse Opinions or Innovation** The culture discourages **dissenting viewpoints**, stifling creativity and **preventing meaningful innovation**. Decision-making is **top-down and rigid**, with no room for fresh ideas or experimentation. - Career Stagnation & Limited Mobility Engineers and managers in this organization become unhirable outside of PXT due to the lack of meaningful technical work and growth opportunities. The skills developed here do not translate well to external roles, making career progression difficult outside of Amazon’s PXT internal ecosystem.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
