Pros
- Hybrid working 3 days in office - Great place to get a foot in the door for e.g. analytics, utilities, trading, excellent knowledge there and they are willing to train - People are genuinely nice - Work is fairly independent - High pay for journalism career - Opportunities for travel
Cons
- Career opportunities very limited as it requires people quitting and most people above senior reporter are lifers who won't quit - Salary uncompetitive for industry - keep saying it will be addressed but it is never addressed - Can be fast-paced and stressful particularly on daily reports - Can be monotonous - Hours are very unsociable (11-7) - Bad communication from upper management down the chain and very poor reputation of upper management among lower levels but no one says anything because CEO owns 75% of the company - Obsessive about attendance in office - Bonus structure is terrible, promised it would be improved but it's still not good - Management only care about certain teams
