Not a great place for Data and Analytics and not competitive salary-wise - Senior Analyst Avanade Employee Review

Pros

- You can get as many Microsoft certifications as you want - Sometimes there are cool learning opportunities (i.e. I attended an AI training in Seattle)

Cons

- Work was uninteristing. There are very limited data science projects. The Data and Analytics projects I was on were boring simple BI/data visualization projects. - Staffing process is unreliable. Getting staffed on a project impacts your ability to get a promotion yet there's no good way to ensure you can get staffed. - Pay is very low. Especially in Denver. I left and got a 55% base salary increase. - Promotion process is inflexible. I was hired at the senior analyst level. I was told it was because I was between levels and not to worry because I could be promoted in 6 months. However, it was clear to my leads from the beginning I should've been hired at a consultant level. I then wasn't able to be promoted after 6 months due to a low chargeablity rate (see staffing process). Also, even if I had been up for promotion, the process takes 3 months from start to finish. That seems unnecessarily long for a salary increase you've earned. - Lack of response from management. They blew me off for 3 months when I asked for a salary renegotiation. This may be due to lack of funding in the Data and Analytics talent community.

The fast-paced nature of the consulting industry often means that, despite our best efforts, we cannot always predict staffing needs; I'm sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your career progression because of this. Pros

A really nice office with perks and company culture that come from Accenture.

Cons

There is a prioritization with getting certifications and doing a lot of tasks outside of full time client work, just to get promoted. If you are in the bench and it’s a slow season, there is a high risk of getting laid off. You will lose your sense of purpose all for the trendy AI culture. The company thrives on buzz terms and marketing solutions rather than actually solving anything.
