Pros
If you are lazy and ineffective, then Detica is in a class of its own when it comes to tolerating failure. The free fruit, kitkats and sugary drinks do not make up for this.
Cons
The company is run by young white English men, mostly Oxbridge types, who've never worked anywhere other than Detica. They perpetuate their tenure by only ever appointing members of their small clique to the most senior positions. Anyone who challenges them disappears virtually overnight. It is rare for any job to be posted on a notice board or for internal interviews to be held; most positions are filled by means of a "managed move". If no-one from the clique can fill the post, they go to outside recruitment rather than looking to recruit from within - so denying their long-serving people the career opportunities they deserve. The buildings, IT infrastructure, supporting services and administration are all in very poor shape.
