Pros
Brand reputation (at a global level, not locally)
Cons
I worked in Area 2 at BAT Greece, and unfortunately, my experience was overwhelmingly negative. My direct supervisor was one of the most ineffective managers I've encountered—constantly micromanaging, yet never available when support was actually needed. Communication was poor, and both he and the Sales Manager were consistently rude and dismissive toward the team. I initially joined BAT with high expectations, believing it was a company that valued and respected its employees. That turned out to be completely false. There seemed to be no functioning HR department, and the lack of structure allowed management to change expectations daily, creating confusion and frustration. Our team consistently underperformed compared to competitors, largely due to poor internal organization and mismanagement. The client reward system was disorganized, and clients rarely received their incentives on time—if at all. Weekly market visits were another source of frustration. We were required to complete extensive documentation, only for it to be discarded after the visits ended. This clearly pointed to a box-ticking culture rather than one focused on real improvement. Overall, BAT Greece was one of the most toxic work environments I've encountered. I would strongly advise others to think twice before joining unless there are significant changes in leadership and company culture.
