Pros
Good pension scheme Good maternity cover
Cons
Very poor and chaotic management- lots of micromanagement too. Very low morale in the team and wider department as targets are constantly shifting and difficult to achieve. Unprofessional comments made by senior management. Despite being positioned as an account management role, it is essentially just a sales role. You are mainly targeted and paid commission on only revenue generating activity so there is no incentive to actually resolve complaints/support customers on non-revenue generating activity which I believe is a core part of being an Account Manager. Despite this, you are still expected to be the central point of contact for complaints resolution, financial/billing issues etc. which end up taking most of your time if you’re actually wanting to fix things. The role ought to be split up into two; one that focuses on BD and commercials and another that focuses on genuine account/client relationship management. It is a very process driven environment but when you follow the said processes, it often fails or you’re told to do something else which is incorrect.
