Pros
Good salary, can coast along if you want as management is often so involved in internal fighting and their own job protection, that they have no idea what is happening down below. However, this lack of understanding from their side has knock on effects. UK is full of old dinosaurs who have been there since the GPO days and hate change. They gang up and slaughter new blood...conform or leave is the message.
Cons
Performance reviews were a brutal process. X percentage of people had to be given a terrible review score which impacted their bonus, salary increase etc. This was to comply with HR unspoken rules dictated from UK. Challenged this many times and refused to follow these, had to complete written justifications on why I would not bad score my staff. Ultimately, I did not follow the unwritten / unspoken rules and became a redundant casualty
