Pros
- good growth potential - focussed and competent management team - more horizontal culture compared to other investment banks - overall staff is highly competent technically
Cons
- Very political environment, in my team anyways, with a closely knit 'old guard' of people who have been with barcap for a long time, mostly british people, against a number of new hires, mostly Europeans. There is somewhat of a difference of culture, and in takes a long time and a fair amount of diplomacy to get through - Bank is less well organised than other investment banks, with less efficient support teams and more amateurish processes.
