Pros
The people. Working in the trenches together day in and day out allows you to build lasting bonds and friendships.
Cons
I started here optimistic and full of positivity, but the toxic environment and burnout took their toll. The company has changed over the years. The values it once practiced and projected are now only just a facade. The "Kindness" philosophy and lifestyle preached to the masses by the brand are not reserved for its employees. It's all an act. A word to hook people. A marketing tactic. I could never have imagined witnessing and being a part of such a collectively miserable, overworked, and severely underpaid group of employees. The executives take advantage of their talented teams and pay them less than any other company out there. Getting a raise is like fighting a losing battle. The employees that remain at this company deserve proper support, pay, recognition, and to feel valued. The company is riddled with nepotism and preferential treatment. They wait until you are hired to let you know how it works. Who's untouchable, the relationships, and where not to tread. These few specific people can say and do whatever they want and will never be reprimanded or asked to change, regardless of how it affects other employees or the company itself. Some wield their power, and some use it to do nothing and collect a paycheck and praise. The Marketing department is in constant chaos. This is not due to the people within it but due to its unorganized and underqualified leader. The team is hit with unrealistic expectations, constantly pivoting based on the whims of different executives and the marketing department leader. At the same time, their thoughts and opinions on the matter at hand and how it will perform are ignored. When the team executes the work behind these "disruptive" big ideas, and it doesn't perform, leadership is shocked it didn't have the desired outcome despite multiple teams sharing their concerns from the beginning. The leadership of this department will be its downfall. I was not the first person to leave and will not be the last. This company will continue to lose quality people and will never reach the level of success they so dearly crave if they don't practice the Kindness they preach regarding how the company is run and its employees.
