Pros

There is really a good work/life balance at Best Buy. I never felt great pressure to meet a deadline, and never had to work nights or weekends. Most people are very nice. It is very pleasant to work here.

Cons

Especially compared to Amazon, the leadership is terrible. There is little vision. Despite doing way above what I was expected, I rarely received praise, and not even a hint at a promotion. You have to promote yourself. My friend did this, and then when it came time for layoffs, despite managers wanting him to stay, HR choose him for a layoff. (Hence, the reason for my give only 3 stars) There is also a lot of "silo" environment: each team existing for just themselves, and not really trying to help out. Last, I experienced incompetence with my manager, who wanted to completely change code in a bad way to achieve his pet goal. (He is not knowledgeable in my field, data.)

Pros

Great place to work if you love tech.

Cons

They have turned into corporate America. No longer care about their employees like they used to.

Pros

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
