Pros

Working at BioCentriq was a very frustrating experience. On paper, the work was good and the peers were amazing! The company also offered decent pay and benefits, as well as a somewhat flexible work schedule.

Cons

In practice, however, unrealistic expectations and untrustworthy upper management turned it into a difficult workplace. They pride themselves on not allowing work/life balance, while there is a blatant double standard in deliverable expectations for certain employees. Favoritism and gossip are all too common in the workplace and will have an immediate impact on your work stability with no investigations into the matter. They will make false promises about career growth and opportunities to keep you around. They will overpromise to clients and then expect the engineers and scientists to make it happen within objectively unattainable deadlines and constraints. If you are unlucky and find yourself in a position where you don’t meet these deadlines, you will take 100% of the blame. In short, I would not recommend BioCentriq to anyone.

Pros

You’ll have the chance to be involved in various disciplines, gaining exposure to multiple areas due to the company’s focus on manufacturing for other clients. This can lead to participation in diverse projects. However, compensation may vary depending on the company’s financial situation and client acquisition. If BioCentriq is unable to secure clients, this could impact workflow and potentially affect pay.

Cons

The company is relatively new and lacks a solid client base. While they have the potential to attract new clients, many do not stay due to limited infrastructure. Employees are often overworked and spread thin, as the small size and limited budget lead to one person managing multiple responsibilities. Additionally, internal politics and favoritism are significant issues, with management often dismissing constructive feedback if you’re not in favor. This environment can make it challenging to succeed or grow within the company.
