Borderline illegal practices, substance/alcohol use during work hours, and immature leaders who think outbursts and long tangents make them seem ..intelligent? You might be tempted by an atmosphere that appears progressive and fun with promises that seem positive, but the reality is low pay, unethical work, and constant demoralizing attacks when leadership feels insecure about the cracks in their facade. They built and maintain a deeply toxic environment and genuinely seem to think that they do a good job at convincing you that you're the problem. There are 15–20% of employees who drink the Kool-Aid and become just as disconnected from reality as management. The rest are trying to get by. If you are young, a new grad, or simply need the job, everyone understands. But start your exit plan as soon as you join. Network, be kind, and don't feed into the fear-mongering or the theatrics. Research leadership and talk to other employees and ex-employees. This company has had a terrible reputation for an embarrassingly long time. Local employers within and outside the industry are also aware.
