Pros

Great office location and CME have invested in making the space more attractive for the return to office. Plenty of varied work opportunities to gain experience from with different tech stacks. I didn't experience any micromanagement and was largely allowed to work independently. Great benefit package including top pension contributions, dental care, gym membership.

Cons

Work life balance is not taken seriously. Some crazy decisions from senior management that other reviewers have pointed out (hire freeze, not renewing contractors, allowing so much knowledge to leave the company) only led to increased workload and more stress for the remaining team members. Senior management seems completely ignorant of the pressure put on people. People burning out all over the place. Dev teams becoming support teams for large amounts of components. There is currently a lot of attrition. Too much weekend work and late nights. Unrealistic and unachievable goals being set for employee reviews. Culture of coming in to work on holidays, PTO days. CEO doesn't care about non US locations. And he also took a fat payrise during pandemic when all employees pay rises were cancelled.

Pros

- Friendly working environment. - Slow-paced and relaxed. - Opportunity to work on high-impact financial software. Quite useful if you want to get into a trading firm later on.

Cons

- Limited skill growth capability (tools are severely locked down, etc) - Work life balance can be shaky sometimes since systems fail after 5pm, weekend, etc. - Documentation is terribly organized. - Not enough focus on engineering culture. Overall probably not the best place to stick around if you like exploring new skills, building from the ground up, taking ownership etc.
