Pros

A really cool company overall. You get to work with some insanely smart people. Great for early career development because you learn and get exposure to so many things. High trust environment, as long as you get your work done you have a lot of flexibility with regards to how you structure your day. You are encouraged to pursue projects of interest to you if it is useful and enriches our security posture in some way. Management is supportive of our needs and career advancement. This is an incredibly fast-paced environment which can be intimidating, but it pushes you outside your comfort zone and challenges you to be better faster and stronger all the time (this can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it).

Cons

Used to be remote-first but after the pandemic they started promoting a hybrid schedule if you live within 30 miles of an office. As with many tech companies the purse strings have tightened this year and some teams are incredibly short-staffed. This can sometimes equal out to long hours or working after hours if you have deliverables that need to be met. Not many women in engineering (con), but the environment still feels comfortable and supportive (pro) and I rarely feel like I'm being "mainsplaned" to.

Thank you so much for your comments. We are happy to hear you are experiencing so many positive aspects of CrowdStrike. We also recognize your comments on remote work. Please know that regarding remote work, we are and remain a remote-first company. For all employees, remote work constitutes 60%—100% of their working experience at CrowdStrike. An increased emphasis on RTO was announced by our CEO in early December of 2022 and, following that announcement, the leadership of some organizations made the decision, in the best interest of the business, to ask employees close to specific offices to return to office for any two days of each week. Functional leadership has the autonomy to do what makes sense for their function in ways that deliver benefits for their unique workstreams. We have and will make exceptions for employees where such a shift would create hardships. On a related note, supporting our employees is our number one priority. We encourage you to reach out to Lindsey N. in Employee Experience or your HR Business Partner so we can ensure you are fully supported here.

Pros

Remote work culture Is excellent, innovative tech, company's growth and opportunities to protect clients. Felt fortunate to have worked for this organization that has a strong growth tragectoruy and protects clients.

Cons

Manager/Director level: Poor communication from team manager/director, with little to no direction and the lack of team morale. Team members were on their own after training and most meetings could've been an email. The presence of the director was the equivalent of a virtual bulletin board. No ownership was taken from management to lead or guide the team and no sense of loyalty exists between management and team members. Good talent was squandered due to complacency and lack of direction. Company: Con for the company is the unfortunate lay offs that happened after leaving the company. It's a shame they laid off veterans from my former team. The writing on the wall was apparent, from outsourced new hires to the non-competitive compensation for newer hires. The company went from a fun and competitive start up to a disconnected company trying to emulate tech industry trends and "balances the budget" AKA lay offs, to look good to share holders. For a company that nets huge profits year after year, layoffs shouldn't be part of the reality.
