Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, flexible hours and friendly coworkers contributed to a really chill place to work. People ignore the employee handbook when there is a good reason to.

Cons

You WILL be underpaid in the engineering department. You are a contractor, your job is based on being cheaper than companies doing the same work themselves. However, the company will deny that over and over again and they seem to be willing to spend unlimited money on slick power point presentations to convince you of that, and that will get old fast. The work is really repetitive and getting cross trained or take on new responsibilities to try to get more variety in your workday will be stonewalled unless you really push for it. There is almost zero promotional potential, and there is zero technical advancement so if you want to keep doing hands on work you will need to leave the company to advance. Also the head of the engineering unit in East Hartford will tell you anything to get you out of his office and then never act on what he promised.

Pros

Easy work very relaxed environment but is heavily dependent on client site and manager.

Cons

Pay is not transparent. Even if the pay rate would come out to 75k a year between client only unpaid holidays and small amount of time off only 2 weeks a year. My total gross income has been closer to 60k a year
