I was made to sit completely by myself for almost a year and a half, away from my team, with days of no conversation. My manager only communicated via email and my boss actively blanked me. I was referred to as "him" in meetings, if acknowledged at all.
For a week, the lighting above my desk area was broken and I ended up sat (alone) in darkness. When the light started making a clicking noise, I raised it only to be told: "If we can't freeze you out, we'll just drive you insane."
After working on Momentum, the company's annual event, with my contribution actively supporting record attendance, the team went to drinks without me while I was in the bathroom without a word.
When I asked for a raise in line with market rate and headhunters, I was told it was too late before my current contract expired. I had been given my new contract to sign only 2hrs before. (I got the money I asked for at my new job, needless to say.)
The office is cliquey and I think it's fair to say there is a degree of latent homophobia.
It is not a company for creative people, or for anyone who wants more out of life than SQLs.
