Cons
Salary is less than with most other companies, but work expectations are higher. SM's do a majority of the work load because labor budgets are tight. Company is now setting an unrealistic work schedule to close two nights a week. This includes closing the night before truck day, and opening at 6:00 the following morning, and throwing frieght for 11 hrs that day. SM's are expected to work six days a week. Work load is heavy for the budgeted hours they provide. Absolutely NO work/life balance, although upper management likes to try to convince you there is, while they sit behind their desks at their home. I've been with the company for almost 4 yrs, and a SM for two. My cup is usually half full, but not where DG is concerned.
