Pros

Decent pay with yearly bonus. Provided lunches during tax season. Managers and coworkers are nice, never had my request for PTO denied when it was for something significant like weddings or funerals, even during our busiest times. Benefits are good and you're given a stipend to offset the cost, which makes it almost free. The business is the best at what it does, everyone has to file taxes, so the company isn't going anywhere.

Cons

No work-life balance (70+ hour work weeks during tax season, September through February and possibly longer depending on the year). All programming languages and tools are proprietary, no opportunity for career skill growth here. Currently merging with another company, causing a lot of layoffs when we were already understaffed for the work load (hence the 70+ hours during tax season), making the work experience even worse. Upper-level management's response to significant overtime is "That's the job", while actively making decisions that make it worse, such as layoffs.

Pros

You get to make your schedule based on your availability. The training is continuous and up-to-date. The supervisors were available to assist you with customer calls. You get full access to all software for training and learning.

Cons

They monitor your time and are very strict with breaks and lunches. Be humble. Ask for help to answer a customer question. You are responsible for all follow up calls to customers. Customers follow up calls can only be made when authorized. You are responsible for keeping the call que flowing..

Pros

Remote. The company provided necessary equipment.

Cons

Equipment did not work well. There appear to be no women in management. The biggest thing, and I cannot stress this enough, was the EXTREMELY poor communication. I actually dug around to make sure there wasn't some other application or Teams group I hadn't gotten access to for internal communications, because I felt so uninformed and unprepared for the position based on how little information was available. I understand that most companies' biggest issue is lack of communication, but these folks really seem to take pride in it.
