A bit of a cult of personality - Anonymous employee EF (Education First) Employee Review

Pros

Beautiful office, on-site cafeteria, nice people.

Cons

Expectations of employees are disconnected with realities of work life balance. The promise of endless travel should be taken with a grain of salt, the mission while eloquently stated is more lip service than anything. This is a sales organization first and foremost. Pay is sub-market, and you won't see much better than a cost of living adjustment unless you are in management. They have somehow convinced everyone working there that they are not worth paying a market rate, and will let you leave and just train the next man up.

Early career opportunities while having fun along the way is a big part of what we hope people experience working at EF, and we are happy to hear this in your reflection. Thank you for sharing your note on compensation as well. We review our compensation packages regularly to make sure they align with our industry standards, and we appreciate your perspective on that.

Pros

Large organization with all the associated benefits, still lets products operate individually which builds career autonomy and flexible tech stacks

Cons

Pace of work and lack of focus is unwarranted for industry EF is in, engineering can be disconnected from the broader business.
