Pros
-Pre-planned lessons -Not too many real teaching hours (about 22 per week on average) -Easy to get a job with them as a native speaker -Opportunity to meet lots of new people -Many nice students
Cons
-A big corporate machine with no one in control who really cares about staff or students -Ridiculous split shifts (eg 10am-2pm + 4-5pm + 7-10pm) -They won't let teachers find their own accommodation and place them in THE grottiest places imaginable showing complete apathy when teachers complain -Serious problems of micro-management rather than sorting out real problems such as extremely high teacher turnover rate (wonder why...) -Very low wage (told it is 65000 RUB (2014)- you actually only get about 50000 RUB which is barely enough to survive when renting a room in Moscow) -When problems arise, teachers are told to stop being negative rather than problems being addressed -Bad relations between management and employees -Little respect shown by management for teachers -Extremely poor organisation- no procedure for when a teacher becomes unwell
