Pros

Edelman is a good place to have on your resume. It's highly recognizable and offers a wide range of clientele.

Cons

Turnover rate is incredibly high. In the year I was with Edelman, I had three different managers. I was worked to the bone, staying as late as midnight some nights with little to no recognition. This company definitely values quantity over quality and has a "burn and turn" mentality when it comes to its' employees. Designers are often treated like production artists who are asked to take art direction from unqualified account members. I've witnessed people throwing chairs, screaming, and cursing at each other during meetings. I felt like I saw people crying on a daily basis because of the way other team members were treating them—lots of bullying from those with advanced titles. This was one of those jobs that made me not want to get out of bed in the morning. An overall unhealthy environment.

Pros

I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
