Pros
EnvisionWare offers an opportunity for learning. It’s a great start for beginners in the tech field. There are some good seasoned people there that are sincere, they make an effort to move things forward and they will help build you up. The customers are 95% great; there are always some bad eggs. Working in the library community is nice; most people you encounter in this field are educated and are fairly reasonable to work with. It’s a fast paced environment (if you like that sort of thing). The office is very nice; plenty of space and it’s clean. You get a free lunch on your first day, and sometimes snacks are provided. There is an unlimited supply of K cups; parking is close to the office. The work area is comfortable, desks and chairs are typically kept in good shape.
Cons
Employee retention is not good; this puts an extra burden on the seasoned people. EnvisionWare is not a family oriented company; you may find yourself working nights and weekends with no extra compensation. The health insurance is expensive for families, coverage is subpar and insurance contributions from the company are low. You have to ask for a raise, they don't give regular raises. Your vacation and sick time are in a PTO bucket, (even for salaried employees), you have to use sick time for regular medical visits. Advancement is closely tied to others leaving.
