Pros
-Extremely fast paced environment. This job will teach you endurance and client service like no other. You are expected to respond to emails within 15 minutes and complete projects in 30-60 min. -You can easily get promoted if you have grit -Great first job out of college or if you are moving industries & want an entry level position. You will learn about several different markets & diversify your experience (client service, training, sales effectiveness). -Extremely competitive: when in the office, every team member on the segment reviewed their stats verbally twice a day (morning and afternoon). Although this seems unsettling, it did make me work harder to be at the top which earned me promotions quickly -Your TL and VP can make or break your experience. My first TL was extremely supportive and provided valid feedback that helped me excel in the my time at GLG and my job now.
Cons
-Long hours, expected to be "on-call" until 9pm on weekdays and responsive on weekends -Benefits are not great & unlimited PTO is deceiving. Your PTO is approved based on bandwidth at the team and segment level. Also, leadership makes employees feel guilty for taking PTO and praises people who don't -Lunch breaks and working away from your desk are frowned upon. Also, talking about your personal life and too much laughing is looked down upon because leadership does not think you are being as productive as possible. -Extreme micromanagement unlike I have ever seen before. VP+ were on my all my client emails as well as Business Development. They would provide critiques on the sentence structure and punctuation for all comms (ex. not using an exclamation point or wishing someone a happy holiday). You have to tell your team if you are getting a coffee, lunch, bathroom break, etc -Little/ no positive reinforcement -The time you spent at the company is more important than the quality of your work when determining promotions (ex. top stats & qualitative performance in the segment will not earn your a promotion over someone who worked there longer) -Little trust from leadership. They will show shock when you do a good job because they have so little of expectations
