Pros

Great opportunity to wear many hats, try new things, discover and develop your strengths and weaknesses, think outside the box, have a hand in the bottom line success of the company, tight knit group of employees. Good short term stepping stone for the experience.

Cons

No room to grow. No mentorship, onboarding or training. Very high stress, competitive environment. Extreme pressure to consistently increase your workload and improve your quality of work. Long hours including an implied mandatory lunch break with your colleagues, talking about work and frequent off-hours gatherings where you talk more about work. Pressure to conform to founder’s standards, as an employee and as a person, and follow the cultural example she sets. Must enjoy networking and sales no matter what position you’re hired for. No real creative freedom. - it’s the founder’s way or no way. Minimum wage pay. If you make commission you can be well paid.

Hi there, Sarah (CEO) here! Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review and for the pros you outlined -- I'm glad to hear you did have some good experiences with us. I am sorry to read the remainder of your comments. As a small and ambitious company, we do work hard and have high standards -- and I understand that can be stressful. I'm afraid that's the nature of trying to get a business launched. I certainly wish it were easier myself. In terms of training, we don't have the structured training programs in place many larger organizations have. At our current scale, our work environment is best suited to those who crave independence and want to be part of the process-building - that's what building a startup is all about. As for coaching and mentoring, I always try to be available for any request for coaching or mentorship, including requests for external mentors. Our salaries are negotiated on a case by case basis; specifically for sales roles, we do plan for a large part of your take-home to be commission (in addition to your base). This is designed to allow a lot of freedom for our salespeople. We do have office hours of 8am-5pm with an hour lunch break from 12-1pm. Everybody is welcome to do as they wish during their lunch hour. Work challenges or anecdotes do come up during conversation at lunch or at socials - I think any team would say the same. I'm sorry we weren't able to work through these topics together while you were at Georgette, and find a positive outcome. I wish you lots of luck! Sarah

Pros

Supportive team, lots of fun outings, STUNNING office, individuality is really encouraged This may have been one of my favorite jobs ever; you work HARD but the experience is incomparable. If you're someone who wants to be a boss business person with a killer career, this is THE place to start. Super friendly atmosphere, weekly one on one meeting with the CEO really helps you stay on track with your goals.

Cons

You will work your butt off; you get what you put into it (this is only a con if you're not a self starter)
