Pros

The people I worked with are some of the best around. I'm still good friends with several former coworkers.

Cons

The company is going through massive layoffs in phases. This includes Koch Industries as a whole. They made lots of money but instead of valuing their employees and not backfilling roles as people quit or retired they decided to layoff thousands of employees (quietly) in phases. Last, the MBM culture they so espouse is now online and classes are all virtual. Just a few years before they said MBM was the foundation for their success and would never lose the live training. Well, I guess things change. This all goes to show Koch and Georgia-Pacific are not the same core value driven company they once were. They may still be privately help, but make no mistake they are officially acting like a publicly traded company only caring for the bottom line at the expense of the employee.

Hi there, this is Liz from Talent Solutions. I’d like to first and foremost thank you for 10+ years of service with GP. We appreciate you for taking the time to share your feedback. Koch Companies have been undergoing rapid transformation, while also adapting to the challenges brought on by Covid-19. Please know that workforce reduction is not a decision that we take lightly, and I will be sharing your feedback with the appropriate leadership teams. Thank you again, and best wishes.

Pros

Great benefits and pay including 401K match. Leadership seems to listen if people speak up. Safety culture is above and beyond any other place I have worked.

Cons

One year will be spend like crazy and the next will be feast or famine. Need to learn these cycles and even out so it's not so cyclical.

Pros

Autonomy Remote work opportunities Decent Pay - only if you negotiate it

Cons

Zero training Poor leadership Lack of recognition Constant focus on “closing gaps” - you’ll spend all your time talking about less than 2% of revenue/profit Inconsistent bonus payouts with no metrics to understand how they arrive at a figure No clarity on how to achieve pay increases. Constant responsibilities added to your role that were not previously part of the role you were hired for.
