Pros

Other workers are relaxed and friendly for the most part, they move you around locations so you end up meeting some cool people. Lots of diversity, Free burgers and the uniform isn't too strict so you can express yourself. If you stick it out you get a Cert III and other qualifications. They give people promotions frequently.

Cons

Workplace bullying doesn't really get dealt with, being liked by higher ups = better treatment. The pay is extremely low for under 22's because they pay based on years out of school and whether you finish the Cert III they make you do. TL role is very demanding and a lot of pressure to save hours/send people home early even if it means we have to stay back til 1am, which we get in trouble for too so you can't win. They rush people into promotions so it's kinda like being thrown in the deep end. The shifts are completely different every week so it's very hard to plan things ahead of time, thus we get constant sick calls.

Pros

I worked at the Neutral Bay branch which is a franchise so would be slightly different to the usual Grilld store. Generally all the people that work there are pretty nice and have cool personalities. The quality that Grilld emphasizes is definitely the real deal. If you are young and looking for a job it's a good place to start as the culture is quite nice. I'd suggest just to do a couple of weekend shifts.

Cons

The work can be tough which is usually the case of hospitality. When you are hired they require you to do all roles such as table service, grilling, cashier, dressing etc. Grill's has a goal of making a burger from 5 to 7 min after order which is not always possible when it's very busy. It can be quite stressful especially as my manager/owner liked to understaff shifts sometimes in order to save money. They also don't have penalty rates and they like to enrol all the staff in a hospitality course (Certificate 3 ) as a way to pay everyone lower wages.
