Pros

The company really does walk the Mind Body Spirit talk: they have policies in place to ensure that employees have access to the necessary resources for their health and wellbeing at work. This includes not just a fantastic selection of herbal teas in the kitchen but also good maternity leave policy, flexible working options for those who need it, a clean and comfortable work environment and lots of opportunities for socialising with the team. They absolutely aim to make you feel part of the family and support you in your professional and personal development. There are no petty office politics and no dramas. The salary is better than at other publishers (looking at you, Big Five). I'm told we get a bonus, though I haven't been here long enough to find out for myself. We can get time in lieu to compensate for volunteering at Hay House events. Also, we get free books!

Cons

They are based in London, which, even with the good salary they offer, is a very cost-prohibitive place to live. The editorial workload is frequently just about bearable - often I leave the office a little late and feeling knackered.

Pros

Tons of incentives, including lifetime free access to digital and audio books, workshops and printed books. They provide plenty of education and resources to improve your life and maintain a positive mental state. Monday through Thursday work schedule, flexible hours, very respectful of personal time.

Cons

I would have loved to have been offered a permanent position beyond the three month contract. Imbalanced work load and expectations on employees when management would state they were bored watching the paint dry on their walls and consistently disrupt my workflow to chat on zoom stopping my productivity.
