Should have gone back to my former employer - Engineer HealthEquity Inc. Employee Review

Pros

100% remote workforce, Unlimited PTO for salaried employees

Cons

As an employee, my HSA card was declined more times than not despite having over well north of the purchase amount as available balance in the account. Should have been my sign to start looking for a new job before the RIFs happened. After initial reduction in force in November and being told not to worry and there wouldn't be any more, my time finally came. Leadership continued to tell Employees in large conference calls that no more RIFs were coming, and more came, then again and then once more that I'm aware of. The flagrant and open lies from Merv and Eli are disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re glad you valued the flexibility of remote work and flexible time off. We also hear your concerns around reductions in force and your experience with account access. We don’t take decisions that impact our teammates lightly, but in an ever-changing environment we sometimes have to make difficult adaptations to support the company long term and continue delivering for our members. We appreciate your candidness — feedback is always welcome as it helps us find ways to make experiences better for both teammates and members.

Pros

From the very beginning, the experience felt welcoming, thoughtful, and well organized. The recruitment process was smooth and informative, and every interview felt like a genuine opportunity to have real conversations and build meaningful connections. The team was incredibly supportive throughout both hiring and onboarding, which made the transition feel seamless. A great example of the company’s culture is Trailhead, an experience designed to bring new hires together early on and help them connect, learn, and feel part of the organization right away. It’s clear there is a lot of intention behind how employees are supported, especially when it comes to building connection from day one.

Cons

Still early in my time here, but no major cons to note so far.
