Pros
- Fun environment, very relaxed management, as long as you get your basic job responsibilities done (check in, out, billing) its super simple and a very fun job to work. - GREAT benefits!! I stayed at many Hyatt's for super cheap from the employee discount portal you get on day one. - Great long term guests that make good connections and are very friendly - Front desk is enclosed, meaning guests will not try and come behind the desk. This is great for security and also just so much nicer then open concept desks. The back office is right behind the desk and if there aren't many tasks to be done or the shift is slow you can step in the back and still be right next to the desk while watching cameras.
Cons
- Sometimes there would be work drama; just stick to yourself if you work here, people like to gossip and thats okay but keep in mind word will spread like wildfire. - You may have to work overtime, or cover shifts often due to lack of staff. This can be a pro to some - Minimal training, you will have to figure out most of the systems on your own. I found this useful because I ended up teaching myself more about hospitality this way, but others may not like this.
