Pros

Infineum is a world class additive company for crankcase, marine and automatic transmission fluids. Infineum is an excellent training ground for anyone wanting employment in one of the major oil companies.

Cons

At the start of the joint venture, the pay scale was Exxon/Shell. Ever since the JV, the raises have been well below par to bring down the average salary to hit the target in the tranche of companies selected for comparable salaries. Every year, the amount of money required by employee contributions to health case goes up along with deductibles for doctor office visits. I recently learned where they eliminated pensions for new hires. The building in Linden is now almost 70 years old. While it is hard to argue with safety, I question the focus. All the injuries happen to contractors at the manufacturing plants. Much effort of the safety effort is focused on white collar office workers. The only persons with career mobility are those that have backgrounds as a contact engineer at Bayway.

Pros

- CAB Colleagues are very encouraging/respectful in training process and understand necessary development takes time. - Contributing interesting/meaningful work daily and can see the impact my role has on the greater business. Especially valuable and unique for an entry level role. - Given the freedom to explore topics of interest and develop business cases for items I see as value adds. - At times after the technical team consolidation the workload needed prioritization as it was not possible to complete all items. Leaders have been understanding here. - Good office culture that promotes teambuilding and inclusion. - Flexibility to work remotely.

Cons

- Significant off hours responsibilities, sometimes overnight. A pro here is my leaders have voiced when woken up by calls if I'm too tired to drive into work safely then work from home or come in later when able to drive. This is an area of improvement that falls onto the unit team. I've actively worked changes here to provide PTs with more resources which has seemed to help and not impacted safety or product quality, - Some(definitely not all) process technicians are difficult to work with. They sometimes don't share the same level of professionalism and courtesy as CAB colleagues which takes getting used to.
