Pros
The environment is mostly relaxed, and there are many days where the workload is fairly small. Most of the people I worked with were pleasant and interesting, and my store managers usually treated me fairly. Commissions added to base pay is a very good business model for a company like this. The 40% employee discount was nice, too.
Cons
I can only recall two or three weeks in the 13 months I've worked for Journeys that I worked less than 45. Usually it's between 45 and 60. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem if Co-Managers had decent base pay. During slow months, it was absurd how much I worked for almost the equivalent of minimum wage. Senior management recognized my accomplishments on occasion, but rarely followed through on rewards and promises.
