Pros
Kaligo as a business is full of potential and one of the fastest moving start-ups that I've seen so far. Throughout my experience of working in Kaligo, the company has transformed and expanded into various lines of businesses that exponentially increased the business valuation with investors. Kaligo provides an enjoyable and challenging environment. Due to the nature of the company as a startup, employees will have a lot of hands-on experiences where they are expected to work independently on their tasks and be very quick on their feet. Kaligo’s experienced leaders are there to provide guidance and mentorship for employees which provides an excellent albeit steep learning environment. Culture-wise, Kaligo has a very open culture with no office cubicles. Teams are encouraged to work closely across multi cross-functional teams with a philosophy to create a collective creativity and work environment. All team members are also invited to openly share their opinions and ideas with their team or other teams. There are minimal processes, lessening the rigidity of work. Kaligo also adopts a very Google flexible work environment approach where employees are not bound by fixed working hours, ability to work from home and even play or rest during work hours if required.
Cons
Kaligo has a very demanding environment where employees often need to work long or out-of-regular working hours due to the nature of work. Kaligo’s line of work is continually changing and on the move according to company’s demands where employees often find themselves having to deal with random ad-hoc tasks that come with unreasonable urgent timelines. Due to the limited amount of funds available for manpower, Kaligo is continuously lean on labour in which adds more workload to existing employees. Kaligo also does not have an excellent career progression path nor salary increment which employees will find their jobs stagnant and peaked at an early stage. Kaligo does not have an excellent employee benefits package. Employee benefits package is at bare minimal coverage with no added incentives.
