Pros

Some of the best connections of my career were made at Kleinfelder. I worked with great people that are very talented. I got to work on a lot of different projects, and I greatly expanded my knowledge and experience base.

Cons

Most of the people I worked with have moved on to better opportunities because the company is floundering and not making a profit. Why? I honestly don't know. The top-heavy management structure has always been clueless and opaque, and we never got satisfying explanations from them. All I do know is that the employees are being squeezed in an effort to turn a profit. First overtime and comp time was taken away, then a series of office closures, layoffs, poor raises, etc. And top of all that, the employee share of the cost of health benefits keeps going up every year. So while I can't tell you why Kleinfelder is struggling to a make a profit, I can tell you that it is trying to make a profit by treating employees like line items on a cost sheet.

Pros

Gained a lot of experience in the field Thorough onboarding and training Covered a required certification process Will help immensely for my future Overall, friendly and helpful employees

Cons

6:30 a.m. start time was a tough adjustment, but I ultimately got used to it. I did cry at the end of my time there, because I knew I would miss the people.

Pros

- lovely coworkers - some really cool projects since Kleinfelder wins lots of different types of projects! thankfully i had good relationships with the project managers, but peers that don't have a long history don't have enough work flow or don't get to work on projects they want to - very caring boss - flexible work from home policy

Cons

- incredibly repetitive sometimes - inconsistent work and stress related to staying billable - drab and uninspiring workplace energy - lots of non-optional travel - anyone other than my boss and direct peers was not caring - it's all just a bit corporate and no one is really in love with what they're doing - barely got raises consistent with inflation
