Pros

Supportive Colleagues: The overall work environment is positive with friendly and interesting coworkers. Engaging HR Activities: The HR department organizes a variety of in-office activities such as yoga sessions, webinars, and birthday celebrations, fostering a lively and engaging workplace culture. Decent Office Amenities: The office environment is clean, and although not particularly bright, it is well-maintained. Employees are provided with MacBooks and essential office supplies. Collaborative Skills Valued: Effective communication and collaboration are highly appreciated, and multilingual abilities are a plus.

Cons

Project Stability Issues: There is a lack of stability in project types and quality, leading to inconsistencies in workload and expectations. Unclear Department Roles: Some departments have ambiguous roles and unclear missions, which can hinder performance and productivity. Low Execution Efficiency: Execution capabilities are generally average, contributing to lower overall efficiency. Inconsistent Communication During Layoffs: The reasoning behind layoffs, stated as a financial crisis, often masks cost-cutting measures, leading to discrepancies between official statements and actual practices.

Pros

Approach: unique perspective on how branding works The business carved out expertise early on in a space that's likely to grow Global work: new offices are opening up quickly, which means exposure working across continents, even as an individual contributor Ability to set your own goals & build your initiative In-house digital agency Personal growth opportunities: projects are sometimes intense - depending on your perspective this is a pro or con - which forces you to adapt and grow in very new ways Great managers who will help you achieve that growth *Note on culture: while HQ is in Shanghai, Labbrandians come from all over, so the corporate culture is pretty unique. If you plan on a career in Asia or in international businesses this is a good place to be.

Cons

HR can be confusing for foreigners – processes like compensation, vacation, etc. set by local standards Remote working is generally not allowed Intense work – see above Difficult work/life balance Relatively quick employee turnover
