I work at Labcorp at the UM hospital and I was shocked by a few things. I was shocked at the lab space that was given to us. We are a lab that is constantly busy and work flows all the time and the space provided to us is so small that It still shocks me to this day. With the instruments we use and need to do our work, the space given to us makes it difficult to succeed in my opinion. It is also extremely unsafe and I have tripped over stuff many times because every inch of that lab is filled with stuff. I am in shock that CAP hasn't come in and given the lab a citation for being an unsafe place to work due to the space provided. They are risking and waiting for someone to get hurt for something to be done. Also, the instruments used in the lab are also very old and outdated. The employees are not given any bonuses at the end of the year and I feel it's not justifiable considering all the work that we do. I thought the onboarding process and doing it all online with no in-person assistants was extremely difficult and confusing for anyone that is onboarding and I feel we aren't given enough information about all the benefits of working with Labcorp. Having to reach out and make a case about everything regarding benefits is all confusing.
